How to be happy — from me to me

Finding happiness is rough, firstly because it is way easier to fall in the purpose of others than following your own, and we are not really told how to search for our purpose. So typically people do not really get bothered until we get in a very bad emotional state, and they are forced to find something that makes them happy. Note that purpose and happiness are pretty much the same thing if you think about it. In this text, I will share my path of being happy and fulfilled.

My Path

Childhood and Teenage years

In my childhood and teenage years, there were really four ways of being happy:

  • Gaming
  • Reading Popular Science
  • Being with friends
  • Search of Love

Note that I never mentioned work or study, in fact this was something that only came late in my life, until them if anything was a point of boredom.

Gaming

Gaming has always brought me huge joy, from single to multiplayer, from Counter-Strike to League of Legends I always enjoyed games. They provided me a way of socializing and having fun with my friends, as well as providing me with topics of conversation in school, good old days.

Popular Science

Reading Popular Science was always something I was always looking forward, one of my pillars in my personality is curiosity for knowledge. This has expressed itself in my reading habits as well as in giving me goosebumps that I would get when I was using my telescope to see the Moon and other planets of our solar system, science is great.

Being with friends

Having my group of lads has always been something important in my life, still to this day I have held my group of friends very tightly. We are a group of 7, and we still love each other as in the beginning. We always had great times and no confusions, great people make life great.

Search of Love

Searching for Love is rough, however for some reason the process of meeting and speculation as well as the rumours that always goes around thrills me. During my early times I was not the luckiest, in fact I never got one girlfriend back then, but the process of searching and the different attempts were great fun and provided me with lots of growth.

There is an interesting point in all these activities, they were individualistic in nature, so my happiness was linked to my and only my achievement, however things did take a different turn when I went to uni.

Early 20s — Today

In the 20s I started to get interest in non-profit entrepreneurship and content producing as well as what would become my lady. My shift of purpose went from an individualistic onto to a collectivist. Being self-centred started to be not fulfilling. I realise we live from others to others. My curiosity started to be altruistic, naturally my passion for teaching and research naturally was born from here.

Non-Profit Entrepernureship

I realised that giving to others is part of being happy, so making non-profits was something that came naturally to help others. That is why me with a group of amazing 7 people created a non-profit to provide students with internships like experiences so they can have experience before going to the job market. More generally, giving people valuable experience from my experience via structured solutions is something that provides me great joy.

Mathematics Blogs

Sharing my knowledge to others started to be something important to me, so I realised I should be making blogs for people of various backgrounds about my favourite field, that is mathematics. I am doing that in Medium right now. I do plan to create structured notes on various mathematical subjects, if you are interested in some, please leave a comment and I will answer you. :)

Research and Problem-Solving

Searching for new knowledge and problem-solving are the new individualistic things I do, of course I do publish this, but this is for a very restrictive audience and very few people actually read what I do there. Therefore, problem-solving turns out to be what really gives me joy in this arena.

My Lady

Lastly, there is the most significant topic. Love has been the decider in my life, it turned my self into a different person and ultimately is the most importance thing in my life. My girlfriend gives me joy and something that I feel is my ultimate purpose in my life; Finding a special woman after so many years of rejections and growth has been by far my greatest achievement, every day when I wake up I think about her. Love is mysterious, rough, and beautiful, this combo is what moves me and in a way humanity forward. Love is powerful.

My Lady
